Swamp White Oak

#32 - Swamp White Oak (Quercus bicolor)

This is an oak with leaves of two colors: dark green on the upper surface and silver on the underside. The normal size for this native tree is 50 to 60 feet tall with an equal spread. Haverford College's tree dates to the 1830s and provides a majestic backdrop for Commencement exercises on the quadrangle every May.
