#24 - Pagoda Dogwood (Cornus alternifolia)

The white flowers of the Pagoda Dogwood, unlike on the Flowering Dogwood, are clusters of tiny blooms held above the leaves in spring. Then in July, the rounded, purplish black fruit ripens on rich, red stalks. The 15 to 25-foot tall tree's shape also differs; the horizontal branches create a layered look with strong winter interest.
