#24 - Katsura Tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum)

The Katsura bears lovely green heart-shaped leaves in early spring; interesting little banana-like fruits appear in summer; and in fall the changing leaves contribute a beautiful yellow to the landscape and release a sweet odor reminiscent of cotton candy. When mature, this round-topped tree can spread up to 60 feet wide.
