A collaboration between Haverford’s Arboretum Association and Thomas Devaney’s Advanced Poetry Workshop led to “Under an Oak: A Tree Poetry Tour,” in which Devaney’s students read their original poems dedicated to campus trees. -
Over the course of six days in October, Haverford’s campus sustainability officer Claudia Kent watched with growing excitement as a team of workers transformed the roof of Stokes Hall into a meadow.

Martha Van Artsdalen, Haverford's plant curator, was recently interviewed for an article that appeared in the Delaware County News. Van Artsdalen is responsible for keeping an inventory of and caring for all of the trees and shrubs in the College's arboretum, which is over 100 years old.Click here to read the interview
