Why is the Haverford Fund important?

The Haverford Fund (annual giving) provides unrestricted support for the operating budget and funds campus priorities including faculty development, academic programs, student activities, and financial aid. A healthy annual giving program allows the College to remain flexible in addressing current needs without sacrificing the Haverford experience for today's students.

What is the alumni participation rate?

The alumni participation rate is the percentage of alumni who give to the Haverford Fund in a fiscal year. This figure is used by College ranking guides, as well as corporations and foundations, when trying to determine alumni satisfaction with an institution. Donors can make gifts of any size to the Haverford Fund to be counted in the alumni participation rate.

Last year’s participation rate was 52%. This year, our goal is 53% - to reach this goal, we will need an additional 200 donors over last year!

What is the purpose of the Preview Report of Gifts?

The purpose of the Preview Report of Gifts is to say "Thank You" to the donors who have already given to the College this year, to give donors the opportunity to review the lists that will be printed in the next Report of Gifts, and to encourage others to show their support.

What is the 1833 Society?

The 1833 Society is Haverford's leadership giving society designed to recognize and steward donors who give $1,833 or more to the Haverford Fund in a fiscal year. Alumni in the classes of 1999-2003 can join for $750, and alumni in the classes of 2004-2007 can join for $250.

If not, we have not yet received a Haverford Fund gift from you, or your Haverford Fund pledge has not yet been paid for this fiscal year. Our fiscal year runs from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008, so there are only a few weeks left!
