Volunteering: Key Committees
Haverford has a number of volunteer committees comprised of dynamic leaders who strive to advance the vision and mission of the College.
Alumni Association Executive Committee
The Executive Committee acts as the executive arm of the Alumni Association, and serves to advance the affairs of the Association between meetings of the Alumni Council, consult with the administration of the College and its Board of Managers, make recommendations to the Alumni Council, and formulate and implement programs to assist the College in carrying out its purposes.
Board of Managers
The Board of Managers, which consists of 33 persons, is responsible for selecting the President of the College and for establishing policies related to the governance, the course of study, and the management of the College's resources. The Board meets four times a year on campus.
Annual Fund Class Volunteers
Nearly all of Haverford's classes have volunteers who assist in the efforts of the Annual Fund. These individuals serve as class liaisons and work to encourage giving from their classmates.
Annual Fund Executive Committee
The Annual Fund Executive Committee meets periodically throughout the fiscal year, either in person or via teleconference, to provide consultative advice to the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Staff. They serve as additional solicitors for others in their peer groups on an ad hoc basis. The Committee participates in volunteer training for Class Volunteers and serves as liaisons to regional Annual Giving organizational meetings.
Parents' Council Executive Committee
The Haverford College Parents' Council Executive Committee is made up of our many parent volunteers. The mission of the Executive Committee is to lead efforts to assist the College in outreach to the parent community for communication, services, events, fundraising, and admission as well as serve as a resource for the administrative and academic offices of the College and the parent community.
