Why you chose Haverford: “I wanted a small liberal arts college with a strong sense of community, and I wanted a college that would provide me with access to top professors in a small classroom setting.”
Favorite Extra Curricular Activity: “My favorite extra curricular activity has been the Mentoring and Student Teaching (MAST) program, for which I have been a writing tutor for the last two years. MAST provides science and writing tutoring to middle and high school students from Philadelphia. I teach high school students every Saturday during the second semester, and this has been incredibly rewarding as I have been able to see my students develop and improve into more confident writers throughout the program.”
Thoughts on the three Academic Centers: “The academic centers are a great asset to the college. I work in the science library and spend a great deal of time in the Integrated Natural Science Center doing work; it provides a great space to do work at any time of the day or night. The Center for Peace and Global Citizenship has a great café, where I frequently watch European soccer games; I also received a CPGC grant to do an internship with the Supreme Court in South Africa the summer after my freshman year.”
