Favorite Extra Curricular Activity: “This past year I began working as a board member of James House, a newly designated art space for students. Having a space that gives all students access to the creation, collaboration, and celebration of art is really exciting, and that’s why I jumped at the chance to help out. The house just opened last year, but I think it has the potential to become an integral component of Haverford.”
How your Haverford experience is unique: “Being an Art major at Haverford hasn’t been the most common route to take, and yet I’ve realized that the small and intensive nature of the Art Department in conjunction with my academic classes has provided me tremendous growth in both intellectual and artistic forms of expression. I’m fortunate to have been given so much freedom and equally so much attention by my professors, and I have learned a great deal in the last three years.”
Post-graduate Plans: “I hope to go to graduate school and get a Masters in painting or possibly art education. Eventually I think I’d like to work as an art professor.”
Advice: “I took a religion class at Swarthmore this past semester and loved it! I recommend that all ‘Fords take advantage of having class off-campus because you get the chance to meet new people, see different sights, and get a broader undergraduate experience.”
