Chris Boukas
Manhasset, New York
Boukas was both all-state tenor and the goalie on the 2009 New York state lacrosse championship team.
Winning one state championship is a huge accomplishment, but winning three state championships is an "incredible feeling," says Boukas. He was the starting goalie on his lacrosse team his senior year when they finished the season as undefeated state champions, ranking number two in the nation. "I live in a town where Lacrosse is deeply seeded in the community, so it was a true pleasure to make many people proud," he says.
On top of those wins, Boukas’s singing talents won him the title of all-state tenor. His audition solo was "Rastlose Liebe," which means "restless love," in German. Boukas says that the lacrosse team has been "nothing but supportive" of his involvement in the performing arts. “There are always new things to learn in both lacrosse and singing, so I like to keep an open mind when I practice both," he says.
