Favorite Haverford Memory: “There's not one single memory that shines in my mind, but so many smaller ones that make everything worthwhile: the lectures and discussions that left me buzzing with excitement and ideas, the spontaneous late-night conversations that I wished could go on forever, the triumphant track meets and Frisbee games...”
Favorite Extra Curricular Activity: “I am incredibly excited to be a Peer Awareness Facilitator (PAF) for the Class of 2011. Through all the training sessions and from my own experience with the Customs program, I think the PAFs can help initiate the kind of discussions that Haverford still needs to be challenged with. Being involved with the incoming freshman class as a PAF, I not only am able to meet lots of people filling roles in the Customs team, but I'll also get to meet awesome freshmen next year.”
Thoughts on the three Academic Centers: “The Center for Peace and Global Citizenship is one of my favorite parts about Haverford. I have met so many students who have planned amazing service trips all over the world through the CPGC, which really inspires me to be able to enact change and take initiative. I can't wait to have my own adventure through the CPGC soon.”
Why did you chose to attend Haverford?:
I came to Haverford for the social justice mission, the laid-back student body, the academic challenges and the opportunities for exploration. I was also excited to experience the East Coast.
What has been your favorite class?:
My favorite class so far has been Foundations in Drawing and Painting with Professor Ying Li. I've never taken any drawing or painting courses before, and this class was so difficult and at the same time so much fun. We had all sorts of different projects, field trips to amazing museums, and plenty of studio time. Who knew a three-hour class starting at 8:30 am could be so energizing?
