Unscheduled website/webpublish interruption

Starting at about 4:10 PM on Thursday, September 10th, the college website (http://www.haverford.edu) and webpublish.haverford.edu became unavailable when a portion of our storage network failed. By 4:50 PM a copy of the college website had been made available to the Internet, but without dynamic content such as the calendar, news feeds, and blog updates.

By approximately 10:15 PM that evening, the college website (including dynamic content) and webpublish were fully restored to service. We do not believe that any data was lost as a result of this unplanned interruption.

We are continuing to investigate this hardware failure with the vendor in qustion in hopes of preventing any further such interruptions. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please feel free to contact the Help Desk:
