Subject: Fall Break Network Service Interruptions
Impact Summary: Email, Networking, Storage, and Webpublish Interruptions

Email Service Interruption
Friday, October 10th at 10:30 PM through Saturday, October 11th at 2:30 AM (Fall Break)

The mail system will be unavailable while we perform maintenance and install additional system memory (RAM). During the interruption, users will not be able to collect email messages from the college servers. Web based email access (Emumail and SquirrelMail) will be unavailable as well. Mail received during this period will be queued and delivered when mail service is restored.

Webpublish Server Interruption
Monday, October 13th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Fall Break)

Networking & Systems will perform maintenance on disk partitions that support webpublish.haverford.edu. During this maintenance period, web content creators will be unable to post changes on the college web site. Read-only access to documents stored on the Webpublish server will be available throughout the maintenance. In addition, individual and student group profiles on the college website will be unavailable for changes. The website management tool (/manage), used by privileged web publishers, will also be unavailable. The college web site, www.haverford.edu, however, will continue to serve pages throughout the service interruption.

Storage Server Interruption
Tuesday, October 14th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Fall Break)

Networking & Systems will perform maintenance on disk partitions that support the following Storage areas: department Storage folders, all dropbox folders, folders associated with copy machines, and the folders of users whose usernames begin with the letters "A" through "J." During the maintenance period, these areas of Storage server will be available in read-only mode, which means that you will be able to view your files but will be unable to modify them.
