Email Interruption, August 7th at 10:00 PMThe message below was originally sent to all Haverford community members on Thursday, August 7th at approximately 3:00 PM. To: All Haverford Community Members From Thursday, August 7th at 10:00 PM to Friday, August 8th at 6:00 AM, email will be unavailable while Networking and Systems performs emergency maintenance on the storage network that supports the email system. During this interruption, users will not be able to retrieve messages from the server (Check Mail) using Eudora or other email clients. Web based email access (Emumail and Squirrelmail) will be unavailable as well. Mail received during this period will be queued and delivered when mail service is restored. This emergency maintenance is being performed in response to today's unplanned service interruption, which caused email to be unavailable from 1:45 PM to 2:30 PM. Mail sent or received during today's unplanned outage was queued and delivered when mail service was restored at 2:30 PM. Maintenance in the network core, which we anticipated would not be visible to the community, caused this unplanned interruption. We apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. If you have questions about this interruption, please contact the Haverford Help Desk: Telephone: 610-896-1480Email: helpdesk@haverford.edu |
