Broadband and Wireless Access to Haverford's Network via VPN

VPN (Virtual Private Network) software allows you to access restricted computing resources at Haverford such as library journals, private web pages and various campus servers through your DSL or Cable Modem (broadband) from off-campus. VPN also allows users who have a wireless card installed in their portable computer to connect to Haverford's network from various wireless hotspots on-campus.

To use VPN from off-campus, you need an Off-campus VPN login account. Members of the Haverford community will be granted this account upon request.

When using VPN software to access the campus wireless network, you need a Haverford or Bryn Mawr email username and password.

To Access Restricted Haverford Computing Resources From Off-Campus You Need:

To Access Haverford's Wireless Network On-Campus You Need:

  • A wireless card on your computer that supports 802.11b or 802.11g.
  • To install and configure VPN software on your portable computer.
  • To be near a Haverford wireless hotspot.
  • A valid Haverford or Bryn Mawr email username and password.

Note: VPN support is only available from Academic Computing for the Macintosh OSX and Windows operating systems.
