Broadband and Wireless Access to Haverford's Network via VPN

VPN (Virtual Private Network) software allows you to access restricted computing resources at Haverford such as library journals, private web pages and various campus servers through your DSL or Cable Modem (broadband) from off-campus. VPN also allows users who have a wireless card installed in their portable computer to connect to Haverford's network from various wireless hotspots on-campus.

To use VPN from off-campus, you need an Off-campus VPN login account. Members of the Haverford community will be granted this account upon request.

To Access Restricted Haverford Computing Resources From Off-Campus You Need:

Note: VPN is only available for Macintosh OS X and Windows 32-bit operating systems. VPN is not available for 64-bit Windows operating systems.

To Access Haverford's Wireless Network On-Campus You Need:

  • A wireless card on your computer that supports the 802.11a/b/g/n wireless protocols.
  • To be near a Haverford wireless hotspot.
  • Instructions for accessing the campus wireless networks.
