Courses: Topics in Protein Science (BIOLH357G01)

Spring 2014

This course will explore how energy is received, transferred and produced in cells with a focus on the mitochondrial and photosynthetic machinery. Topics will include electron transfer, proton translocation, and photon absorption as well as the experimental challenges of studying such complex biological structures and diseases arising from their malfunction. Course readings will initially include texts and scientific reviews and then primarily the current scientific literature.

Prerequisites: Biology 200; Biology 303 is also recommended.
