Peace building in the aftermath of civil war. Combines theory with case studies in exploring triple challenges of reintegration (demilitarization and refugee repatriation); reconciliation (alternative approaches to dealing with wartime violations of human rights); and reconstruction (fostering democracy and socio-economic development).
Prerequisites: One course in political science or peace studies, and field experience.
