A study of the function, origins, and history of photosynthesis on Earth, from bacteria to plants. This course will begin with a survey of photosynthetic metabolisms, explore photosynthetic microbial diversity, and investigate the evolution of terrestrial plants through the fossil record.

Prerequisites: Biology 200 or consent of instructor.
