Courses: Junior Research Seminar: Access to Finance (ECONH374A01)
Fall 2012
This seminar examines the determinants of access to finance with particular emphasis on small business financing. The primary focus will be on commercial banking. We will examine such issues as banking structures, lending technologies, regulatory issues and problems of asymmetric information, all with a focus on access to finance. We will also examine microfinance as an alternative approach for providing financial services to the poor.
Prerequisites: Econ 203, 300, and 304 (may be concurrent).
