For students with some background in chemistry. Sections usually have a maximum of 50 students. Topics include aqueous solutions and solubility; the electronic structure of atoms and molecules; radiochemistry. Examples in lecture and laboratory include environmental sciences, material sciences and biological chemistry. Lecture three hours, recitation one hour and laboratory three hours a week. May include individual conferences, evening problem or peer-led instruction sessions. Pre-requisites: Math readiness and satisfactory performance on the Chemistry Placement Test.
