New Course: Science is a powerful institution in American life, with
extensive political and personal consequences. Through case studies
and cross-disciplinary readings, this course challenges students to
examine the social forces that influence how science is produced and
used in public (and private) debates. Prerequisite: one course in
Sociology, or the consent of the instructor. Enrollment limited to 20 students.
