This course focuses on the work of Emmanuel Levinas, considering in depth the challenge his ethical philosophy levels at conceptualizations of freedom, sovereignty, responsibility, personal identity, subjectivity, and the relationship between ethics and politics within the western philosophical tradition.l

Prerequisites: One 200-level Phil course & Junior standing.
