Spring 2010

Focuses on the culminating works of the Latin Elegiac tradition—Ovid’s Amores and Ars Amatoria, and their engagement with questions of genre, poetics, subjectivity, fiction, and truth. Selections from other Roman elegists and important scholarship will be read in English.
