The social history of American sexual practices, societal and
governmental regulation of sex from the 16th century to today. Focus
on sexuality as primary arena for expression of social inequality and
key to the social construction of gender. Enrollment limited to 15
students, with preference for senior History Majors and Gender &
Sexuality concentrators.
