This course examines experimental film and video from the 1930s to
present. It will concentrate on the use of found footage: the
reworking of existing imagery in order to generate new aesthetic
frameworks and cultural meanings. Key issues to be explored include
copyright, piracy, archive, activism, affect, aesthetics,
interactivity and fandom. Screening attendance required. Counts
toward the Film Studies Minor. Cross listed with HART B336.
