New Course: An introduction to the sociology of health and illness
with a particular focus on the sociology of the body. Topics include:
cross-cultural perceptions of the body and disease; the definition of
legitimate medical knowledge and practice; social determinants of
health and access to healthcare; management of healthcare costs.
Counts toward the Environmental Studies Concentration. Enrollment
limited to 25 students.
