Provides an introductory understanding of the psychometric properties
of tests, the construct of intelligence, the theoretical underpinnings
of test selection, the development of reading, and practice in the
administration of selected intelligence measures. An introduction is
also provided to the use of perceptual and achievement measures for
the assessment of auditory and visual information processing,
visual-motor skills, memory, and academic progress. In 540 and 541,
students are required to observe test administration by experienced
clinicians and must attend a weekly 90 minute lab focused on
techniques of test administration, accuracy of scoring, and
interpretation of results. Students are also required to give
practice tests to children and adults under instructional supervision.
