New Course: This comparison of pre- and post-communist social
formations in Eastern Europe in specific nation-states considers how
social changes influenced spheres of life, such as family, morality,
religion, economic institutions and nationalism. The course will take
an interdisciplinary perspective, drawing from literature of social
sciences, especially anthropology. Prerequisite: an introductory
social science cousre, or permission of the instructor. Enrollment
limited to 25 students. Cross listed with ANTH B226.
