This course challenges the postmodern construction of ""China"" as the (feminine) poetic ""Other"" to the (masculine) metaphysical ""West"" by analyzing postmodern concepts of word, image, and writing in relation to Chinese poetry, painting, and calligraphy.
Prerequisites: One 100 level course or its equivalent, or consent.
