Courses: Foucault on Sex and Power (PHILH332A01)

This course concentrates on the work of French theorist/historian Michel Foucault. This semester we focus on his writings on power and sex, the impact of which on theories of political resistance, body consciousness, and sexual identity and oppression is difficult to overestimate. In addition to Foucaults own writings, we will read a number of critiques and applications of Foucauldian ideas in areas of feminist philosophy and queer theory.
