NEW COURSE: Full title is : From Dionysus to the Silver Screen.
This course explores how contemporary film, like Greek drama, a
creative medium appealing to the entire demographic spectrum, looks
back to the ancient origins. Examining both films that are based on
Greek plays and films that insert, adapt or distort classical
material, it applies a variety of methodological approaches such as
film and gender theory, psychoanalysis and feminist theory in addition
