Spring 2008
Class Number: 1324
New Course: In the U. S. Latino literature is often construed as a
minority literature, charting immigrant experiences. In Latin
America, it is often seen as testing the limits and considered
inferior. This course studies this phenomenon in relation to the
linguistic, historical, racial, ethnic, and sexual assumptions that
undergird the study of national literatures. Taught in Spanish, with
some texts written in English. Enrollment limited to 15 students.
