An examination of the history and politics of civil war and revolution. A central concern is theories of revolution, guerrilla warfare and counterinsurgency, in light of Southern European (Greece and Spain) and Central American (El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua) experiences.

One course in history or one course in political science
