New Course: William Langlands life work, Piers Plowman, questions
the relationship between artistic expression, social activism and
spiritual healing in Middle Ages England. We examine its use as a
source of outlaw pride and its revival during the Protestant
Reformation in the context of selections from penitential manuals,
legal documents, treatises on translation, rebel broadsides, and texts
by contemporary authors.
