New Course: This course will focus on (relatively) recently published
American novels. We will attend to questions of style, authorship and
interpretation against the backdrop of contemporary cultural and
political history, and explore how representations of gender,
sexuality, race, ethnicity and class inform and shape these
visions/versions of the contemporary. Enrollment limited to 30
students, selected by lottery.
