Courses: Topics in Materials Science (CHEMH353H01)
Spring 2008
This course will focus on the structure-property relationship central to the study of materials with specific functions. Structural studies will include bonding, order/disorder and non-stoichiometry in crystalline and non-crystalline solids. Optical, magnetic and electronic properties will be discussed in the context of non-linear optical materials, ferroelectric and magnetoresistant materials, as well as superconductors and semiconductors.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: Chem 304 or Phys 214 & Chem 101b or Chem 105b
