An introduction to the mathematical theory of statistics: sampling distributions, estimation, hypothesis testing, regression. Additional topics may include: analysis of variance and goodness of fit. Emphasis on the theory underlying statistics, not on applications.

Prerequisites: Math 218 or permission of instructor.
