New Course: Framed by the extravagant funerals of Presidents
Washington and Lincoln, this course explores the cultural importance
of the figure of the President and the Presidential body, and of the
19th century preoccupations with death and mourning, in the U. S.
cultural imaginary from the Revolutionary movement through the Civil
War. Enrollment limited to 15 students, selected by seniority and interest.
