New Course: Introduces students to the major types of dramatic
production in the Middle Ages: mystery plays; morality plays; and
miracle plays. Also examines early Protestant political drama know as
interludes and the translation of medieval plays into contemporary
films and novellas. Explores the construction of local communities
around professional acting and production guilds, different strategies
of performance, and the relationship between the medieval dramatic
stage and other kinds of stages. Counts toward Arts Theater
major/minor. Cross listed with ENGL B296. Enrollment limit ed to 30 students.
