Academic Affairs: Committee on Student Standing and Programs (CSSP)
The Committee on Student Standing and Programs (CSSP), a standing committee of the Faculty, is composed of three faculty members (one from each of the three Divisions of the College) appointed by Academic Council, three students (one of whom must be a sophomore) appointed by Students' Council, the Director of Multicultural Affairs, and Dean Phil Bean, who serves as Secretary to the Committee.
The Committee is charged with reviewing students' academic performance regularly. Where relevant, the Committee also consults with the student's Dean, members of the Athletic Department, members of the Counseling Staff (to the extent consistent with confidentiality), and the Admissions Office in discussions on the standing of individual students. CSSP also has the authority to act on requests from students for exceptions to any of the college's academic regulations. Please consult with your Dean before submitting your academic flexibility proposal for consideration by CSSP.
