Two articles by the Emeritus Professor of Biology, focusing on the history of notable scientific discoveries, have been published this fall in academic journals. -
The funding will allow the Haverford chemistry professor and his lab to use new methods to study the structural changes that occur when proteins bind to other proteins. The lab's research could shed light on several common diseases associated with disordered proteins. -
New endowment support has helped the Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center fund students pursuing scientific research abroad. A recent presentation for the College's Board of Managers spotlighted their work. -
Thanks to recent endowment support, the KINSC now joins Haverford’s two other interdisciplinary centers--the Hurford Humanities Center and the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship – in funding student research. -
Assistant professor of astronomy and physics Beth Willman received $422,000 in NSF grants to support her path-breaking work on ultra-faint galaxies. Six Haverford students are working with Willman on her research. -
Marc Grossman '07 discusses his experiences working with eSolar, a solar thermal plant that uses an innovative software program to control renewable energy-producing fields of mirrors. -
Blase was recognized by the Philadelphia branch of the American Chemical Society for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. -
The connection between music and quantum mechanics was the subject of a three-day event that brought a trio of renowned artists working at the crossroads of music and technology to Haverford. -
Dan Arnstein '09 will pursue neuroscience research in Holland, while Angelina Gomes '09 and Elizabeth Gray '08 will teach English in Spain and Uruguay respectively. -
Mark Maienschein-Cline '07 has been recognized by the Department of Energy, and Joshua Carp '07 by the National Science Foundation.

From a research opportunity in Sweden, to a scientific conference in Denver-the new program gives students the chance to explore their major outside the classroom. -
The award is given annually to an undergraduate who has "demonstrated exceptional potential for scientific research by an original contribution to physics." -
The award funds more than a year of scientific research for student recipients. -
"Centers of Learning, Discovery and Renewal" highlighted student research from each of Haverford's three interdisciplinary academic centers. -
The instruments, which include three different kinds of microscopes and a high-tech cell sorting system, will strengthen research capabilities for faculty and students in the biology and physics departments. -
White's position is the first to be funded in part by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support environmental studies at Haverford. She'll also help to develop an environmental studies curriculum. -
The conference is designed to bring together women in the field of computer science, from undergraduates to graduates to professors to those in the industry.More >
