programs > summer internships > senior bridge internships

In 2005, the CPGC initiated the Senior Bridge Internship opportunity for seniors to investigate issues of peace, social justice, and/or environmental sustainability following their graduation from Haverford.

Senior Bridge Interns will receive an orientation program, international student ID card, all necessary vaccinations, international travel, and an approved living expenses budget, on a competitive basis to graduating seniors who make a compelling case for how this experience will inform and transform what they will be doing after graduation and how it will act as a bridge to what they intend to do after the internship is completed. These internships are designed to enable graduating seniors to engage in meaningful work which expands their understandings and fits with the mission of the Center:

a) as an intern or volunteer with an organization,
b) as an intern working with a research institution, or
c) conducting independent research.

The internship provides for a minimum of four weeks of international, exploratory experience in the summer and/or fall following their graduation. This opportunity is designed for students who are eager to deepen their understandings of issues of peace and social justice in a concentrated manner before they continue to graduate school or enter the work force.
