International Partnership Programs
The following opportunities are open to students of any major. International
programs are open to both HC and BMC students.
Interns will be selected through written applications and interviews. CPGC covers
living expenses in addition to summer earnings expectations.
Holy Family Hospital - Kodema, India
Two female students spend nine weeks dividing their time evenly between intensive clinical work and
offering English-language instruction to young students at a parochial school in rural northeast India.
Social Justice Issues in Contemporary Mexico - Casa de los Amigos, Mexico City
Four students live at the Casa de los Amigos, a Quaker hospitality center in the heart of Mexico City.
Time is spent evenly between running the Casa as a member of its volunteer staff and working with a
local non-profit agency. Spanish proficiency is required.
Intensive Research Methodology - Jogjakarta (Java) Indonesia
Six students undertake an intensive, 10-week social science research methodologies program in the
cultural capitol of Jogjakarta. Two weeks of language and cultural immersion are followed by four
weeks of research and methodology theory, which is then put in practice during a four week internship
at a local NGO.

Domestic Partnership Programs
One to two students will be selected for each of the following:
Leadership Development - High Rocks, WV
Students work at an academic enrichment and leadership program for middle and high-school girls in
Appalachian mountains. Interns support staff in summer programs, work as mentors with teens,
and complete an original curriculum of reading, reflection and discussion. Sophomores and juniors preferred.
Urban Education - Philadelphia Public School Notebook
Students work with this independent newspaper to enhance community capacity towards educational
change and school development. The intern's duties will include writing and researching for the fall
edition which profiles high schools and the selection process.
Environment and Food Sustainability - Haverford Garden
Intern will work with this student-run environmental initiative that strives to both educate
community members about the importance of food sustainability and produce a portion of the food
consumed by students.
Farm Education - Weavers Way Community Programs
Farm education interns will engage in hands-on experience with urban farm education and production
in Northwest Philadelphia through cooperative community farm activities.
Environmental Sustainability - Michigan Land Use Institute
Work as a communications assistant for the Institute, advocating for clean energy, sustainable
agriculture, and public transit in Traverse City, Michigan.
Education - Philadelphia Futures
Perform roles as teacher assistants in academic summer programs for high school students for 4-10
weeks. Interns also provide tutoring and assistance with non-profit administration.
