Each summer, the CPGC funds students to on internships all across the U.S. in projects that further their academic goals and benefit their host community.
Lavender from the gardens spread out to dry in the solar dehydrator, which dries herbs in about a week’s time. The lavender will be stored for use in teas and other herbal remedies throughout the coming winter. Many different medicinal plants grow in D Acres’ gardens, and the farm offers workshops on the medicinal properties of local plants and the preparation of herbs.
