About the CPGC

Max Fater '12 spent winter break at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY where he conducted research for his senior thesis, "Batting for Power: 1960’s Latino Baseball Players and their Challenge to American Cold War Rhetoric"
The Haverford College Center for Peace and Global Citizenship (CPGC) fulfills its mission to integrate "innovative scholarship and responsible civic engagement around issues of global significance" by sponsoring and supporting a broad menu of programs.
In short, the CPGC exists to expose all members of the Haverford community, but especially students, to the key global issues of the day so that they can better equip themselves to help solve these problems after they leave Haverford's campus. In this regard, the CPGC is one of the most visible examples of Haverford's long-standing commitment to peace and social justice, grounded in lives of service and a concern for the world at large. The Center supports the scholarly mission of the College by serving as an incubator of fresh ideas and providing a link between classroom instruction and experiential learning.
