#14 - Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida)
Valued for its flowers, foliage, fruit and growth habit, the native Flowering Dogwood has long been a favorite small ornamental tree. This species has been plagued by fungal disease in recent years, however, and other small flowering trees are often recommended for new plantings.
