#8 - Hinoki Falsecypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa)
Dark green scale-like foliage gives the Hinoki Falsecypress an almost fern-like overall form and texture. The round cones are up to ½ inch in diameter. The straight species grows 60 to 70 feet tall, and it is an important timber tree in Japan.
