#7 - Japanese Larch (Larix kaempferi)
This is the fastest growing of the larches. The pyramidal-shaped tree has slender, pendulous branchlets and, like all larches, its needles turn golden and drop off in the fall. The ¾-inch cones have distinctive curled edges.
